Nestled in the heart of the stunning Dandenong Ranges, just 50km from the Melbourne CBD, Olinda Tea House & Restaurant is a place like no other. With unrivalled ambience, it is the perfect location to host your next special event, a casual brunch, romantic getaway or family gathering.

A place born from love

The Olinda Tea House first opened its doors on 27th June 2011. The Lin family who built and ran the tea house have since moved to their next chapter in life, after selling to the current operators in April 2017.

The Teahouse was built in the loving memory of a lost family member. After losing their treasured daughter to Leukemia in year 2000, Toshi & Cathy were devastated when their darling angel (19) was taken away. It was during that time that the Lin family frequently visited the Dandenong Ranges, as they found that being close to nature really helped them be grounded in a time of need. The tranquil serenity of the trees and peaceful calmness of the surrounds brought much needed healing, and thus, the family created the Olinda Tea House to share with all.

The Teahouse is a place born from love. A place where people can come and enjoy nature and bond with their friends and loved ones over a meal or just a refreshing cup of tea. A place where people can enjoy, bask in the surroundings and leave the city hustle.

Formerly a popular café, Olinda Tea House & Restaurant has been operating under new management since 2017 as a contemporary modern Asian fusion restaurant. Open six days a week for lunch and dinner, we are also renowned for our signature high tea. In addition to our dining offerings, we also host weddings and functions, making it one of Melbourne’s premier wedding venues in the Yarra Ranges Mt Dandenong.
