1: Embrace Heritage and Natural Beauty
Puffing Billy Railway
Step back in time aboard Australia’s oldest and best-preserved heritage steam railway. The Puffing Billy Railway offers a unique experience as you travel through fern gullies and under the canopy of towering Mountain Ash trees. It’s an ideal activity for families, providing both a touch of history and scenic wonder. The Puffing Billy Dog Express is a special event designed specifically for dog owners. Here’s a brief summary:
- Special Service: This dedicated service allows passengers and their dogs to travel together on a Lakeside to Gembrook journey. Accommodating up to two dogs per booking.
- Experience Details: The day begins at Emerald Lake Park — perfect for walks, then continues on a scenic 40-minute train ride through Wright State Forest, and ends at Gembrook, where there are plenty of spaces for dogs to play.
- General Admission Note: This dog-friendly option is exclusive to the Dog Express event. Typically, on regular Puffing Billy Railway services, dogs are not permitted.
